Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has acknowledged that more than 700,000 Russian troops are stationed on the frontline in the so-called "Northern Military District" (SVO) in Ukraine, the TASS propaganda agency reported.
He made this admission in a comment at a meeting with leaders of factions on quotas for SVO veterans in government bodies.
"You see, there are more than 700,000 people on the front line," Putin said.
From these people, according to him, it is necessary to select those who have the desire and ability for this type of activity, such as working in government bodies.
Major General Vadim Skibitsky, Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, stated that more than 620,000 ground troops of the aggressor country are fighting against Ukraine. Another 35,000 Russian National Guard troops are supporting the occupation authorities, guarding the most important facilities in the temporarily occupied territories.
