The head of the British Ministry of Defense is convinced that Ukraine will win the war

Posted on 19/06/2024

Tony Radakin, Britain's chief of defense staff, said he was absolutely confident Ukraine would win the war.

Admiral Radakin, known for his optimistic view, insists that Russia is “failing” in Ukraine, even despite a new Russian offensive in the Kharkov region, where Russian troops have seized part of the territory due to Ukraine's lack of ammunition and personnel.

“Russia is making tactical progress on land,” Radakin said.

“But then you have to back off a little. If you go back to March 2022, Russia has captured about 17% of Ukraine. Today she has 11%. Thus, Russia is still in deficit,” he added.

When asked if he was confident in Ukraine’s victory, Admiral Radakin replied that he was “very confident.”

“By the end of June, Russia will lose 500,000 people – killed and wounded. We are already 800 days into a war that Putin predicts will last three days. This is difficult for Ukraine, but we must maintain our support." “,” the commander emphasized.

Admiral Radakin gave this interview before the United States and other allies publicly supported Ukraine in using Western weapons to attack military targets in Russia.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba confirmed that Ukraine has received permission from Western states to use weapons they supply to strike Russia, and noted that Kyiv will seek to expand the scope of this permission.

The White House clarified that Ukraine is allowed to carry out attacks on the border territory of not only Kharkov, but also the Sumy region. This authorization does not apply to ATACMS long-range missiles.
