The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine is investigating the actions of the former commander of the Joint Forces during the Russian offensive

Posted on 04/07/2024

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is investigating the actions of Lieutenant General Yuri Sodol during his command of the defense of the Kharkov Front and other factors pointed out by the chief of staff of the Azov Brigade of the National Guard Bogdan “Tavr” Krotevich. .

Sources noted that the SBI responded to Krotevich that his statement about possible abuse of power and incompetent command of troops on the part of the commander of the Khortitsa Operational-Strategic Group of Forces, Yuri Sodol, was taken into account. Moreover, they emphasized that as a result, Krotevich’s testimony was added to the criminal case about the circumstances of the breakthrough by Russian troops of the front in the Kharkov region, which, among other things, gives a legal assessment of the actions of the military command of the Operational-Strategic Group of Forces “Khortitsa” in planning and conducting defensive operations at the front.

The SBI promised Krotevich that the circumstances he described would be verified.

The day before, Krotevich himself said on Twitter (X) that he was “not satisfied with the response of the State Bureau of Investigation.”

“Now it’s up to the lawyers. I am grateful to everyone who supports me. I ask the military not to be afraid to testify (including those who do not have a large media presence). We will not back down,” he added.
