Before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Trump called Putin “brilliant”; after the start of the aggression, he stated that Putin deserves more trust than American intelligence.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's position on Ukraine "is not as black and white as some people think." Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced this on Sunday, April 28, Politico writes.

“Donald Trump was right to encourage all of us in Europe to spend more on defense,” Sikorsky said, adding that Trump also sent anti-tank missiles to Ukraine “before the war, when others weren’t doing it.”

The Polish Foreign Minister recalled Trump’s statement made on the eve of the vote in the US House of Representatives for $61 billion in aid to Ukraine.

“Trump then said that the survival and strength of Ukraine is important for the United States,” Sikorsky said.

He explained that the lack of strong opposition from Trump regarding assistance for Ukraine suggests that the former president's attitude towards Ukraine is changing.

“I hope that candidate Trump has seen that this opposition to helping Ukraine is really not popular in the United States, that it is hurting his chances of being re-elected,” Sikorsky added.
