The United States delegation to the Peace Summit in Switzerland will be led by Vice President Kamala Harris.

The participation of Vice President Kamala Harris and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in place of President Joe Biden at the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland does not mean a weakening of support for Ukraine. White House National Security Representative John Kirby said this on Monday, June 3, the Washington Post writes.

Thus, he responded to a question from reporters whether he thought the US President was sending the wrong signal to the world when he chose a fundraiser in California instead of the Peace Summit.

The White House National Security Speaker responded that “there is no leader in the entire world who supports Ukraine more than Joe Biden.”

He also said Harris would attend the Peace Summit “at our desire to be represented at this table,” and her presence would help demonstrate that “Ukraine has no stronger support than from the United States.”

“Regardless of who represents the United States at this Summit, it cannot be argued that we have in any way moved away from supporting Ukraine,” Kirby said.

Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Lucerne, Switzerland, on June 15 to attend the Ukraine Peace Summit.
