<img src=”https://naked-science.ru/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/staf043fig2-scaled.jpeg” alt=”Russian scientists studied the evolution of jet directions in active galaxies”/>Scientists from MIPT and the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory conducted a large-scale analysis of changes in the geometry of jets, which made it possible not only to identify the most likely variability mechanisms, but also to obtain numerical estimates of the main parameters of active nuclei. The analysis used observational data for the past 30 years and covered 317 active nuclei. According to the results of the research, the scientists discovered significant variations in the direction of the jet in a quarter of them.
