Ukraine has fulfilled all the necessary conditions for the real start of negotiations on accession to the EU and now the EU side must fulfill its obligations, the president said.
In an evening video message on Sunday, April 28, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky spoke about Ukraine’s diplomatic successes.
“Ukraine has fulfilled all the necessary conditions for the real start of negotiations on accession to the EU, and now the EU side must fulfill its obligations,” Zelensky noted.
In the evening video message, the President also spoke about preparations for the Peace Summit.
“We continue to prepare the first, inaugural Peace Summit for June, and our team is now, along with the teams of key partners, working to make the Summit truly global. We can say for sure: all continents will be represented – different parts of the world, different views on global development. But they are all united by the same recognition that the UN Charter and basic international conventions are mandatory documents for every state in the world, including such as Russia, where madness reigns. . It is in June that the path to a just world can begin,” the president said.
Preparations continue for the NATO summit to be held this summer.
A strong political signal is needed – the Alliance should not be afraid of its own strength and hide from its foundations. Every country that shares common values and is ready to really defend them deserves an invitation to the Alliance, Zelensky emphasized.
